Important notes

Before integrating, read the notes below carefully to make sure your system works correctly and reliably.

QR support by bank / e-wallet

Dynamic/static QR support depends on each bank/e-wallet and on the type of linked account (Personal, Household business or Business).

Configure the account before linking a household business / business account

For household business and business accounts, some banks require the account information to be configured before linking.

Self-configure via API

You can call the Business account configuration API yourself to set up:

Vietcombank (VCB)Business, Household business
VPBank (VPB)Business, Household business

Contact TINGEE for configuration

Some banks do not support configuration via API — contact the TINGEE team for assistance:

Requirements for linking VIB bank accounts

For VIB (bankBin: "970441"), this rule applies to all 3 account types (personal-account, business-household-account, business-account).

The customer must complete the Register for the speaker on VIB iBusiness procedure before you call the Create virtual account (VA) API.

Steps:

  1. Step 1 — Register a MyVIB account: If the customer has never used MyVIB, they need to download the MyVIB app and register to open an account.
  2. Step 2 — Register for the iBusiness package: The customer opens the MyVIB app and registers for the iBusiness package.
  3. Step 3 — Register for the speaker on VIB iBusiness:
    • Use the MyVIB login credentials to sign in to the VIB iBusiness app/system.
    • In VIB iBusiness, select the Register for speaker feature.

Important

Only after the "Register for the speaker on VIB iBusiness" step is complete can you call the POST /v1/create-va API to create a virtual account and link the VIB account successfully. Otherwise, the bank rejects the VA creation request.

Original account number linking support

When calling the Create virtual account (VA) API, use the isNotifyAccountNumber parameter:

  • false (default): Create a virtual account (VA).
  • true: Link the original bank account number to receive balance notifications.

Only the banks and account types in the table below support linking the original account number:

Other banks

For all other banks, the system supports virtual account (VA) creation by default; pass isNotifyAccountNumber = false or leave the default.

Webhook trigger rules: transfers to the original account number vs the virtual account (VA)
  • Accounts that support original account number linking (isNotifyAccountNumber = true): When the payer transfers to the original account number, the bank records the balance change and sends the data to Tingee → Tingee sends a webhook to the partner.
  • Accounts that do NOT support original account number linking (VA only, isNotifyAccountNumber = false):
    • The payer must transfer to the issued virtual account (VA) number for Tingee to receive the balance notification and send a webhook.
    • If the money is transferred to the original account number, the bank does not record the transaction as part of the Tingee integration → Tingee does not receive the transaction from the bank → No webhook is sent to the partner.

Dynamic QR transactions — amount modification risk

For payments via dynamic QR, the payer may change the amount when scanning the code, so the amount actually received differs from the amount embedded in the QR code.

See detailed transaction verification guidance at Payment webhook — Dynamic QR transaction note.
